VMWare
From HostGISLinux
Known issues and caveats about VMWare
- The 2.4.x Linux kernels, and some 2.6 kernels, do not support the LSI Logic SCSI adapter. Instead, use the BusLogic SCSI adapter.
- VMWare cannot boot from a SCSI CDROM drive. This is a known "feature" of VMWare, and there is no info on whether VMWare will ever fix this. This has been observed in VMWare Workstation 5.0 and 4.5 and VMWare Server 2.0
- HostGIS Linux will run in surprisingly little RAM, even 128 MB is sufficient.
