- The page layout follows cartographic production standards, including the scalebar, logo, and title placement. The display is set to 10"x7.5" and includes additional printer-friendly styling, making the map ready to print from the browser.
- Controls are greatly simplified over other online maps, but still allow powerful visualization selection. Select between multiple renderings of the same underlying data, and cycle through years in the dataset to watch the trends as they change.
- The scalebar adjusts automatically when you zoom in and out, and the legend and title adjust automatically when you select alternate visualizations.
- Navigation controls are understated so you can focus on the map. Still, you have powerful options for panning and zooming. You can even shift-and-drag to create a box zoom for fast access.
